A wonderful experience on Nov 25, 2023. Very friendly and respectful staff and most importantly, very convenient location. Literally 2 minutes to the Terminal station. Price is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

Conveniently located right beside the train and cable car station. View from room was breathtaking! Think we were allocated one of the biggest room type in the property that comes with balcony. Worth the price paid. Will definitely revisit next time!
We really had a nice time at the Mountain Hostel. Everything was perfect. The rooms and breakfast were magnificent. The location is just a minute walk from the train station and you also have a lot of hiking trails nearby. Hopefully we'll be able to visit Mountain Hostel again sometime soon and enjoy the beauty of Grindelwald once again. :)
A very enjoyable stay at this hostel. The people at reception were always happy and helpful. There are plenty of showers. Our room had lockers to keep your things in, helpful if you are sharing with strangers. There are a few sockets each for charging your phone. The walk into town where the shops and restaurants are isn't bad, maybe 20 minutes. They have some facilities for self catering. The breakfast was a buffet of mainly toast, scrambled eggs, a few cereals. There's a small bar which was quite sociable.
The location is great, is just 5mins walk from Grindelwald Terminal station.
Room is new and clean, only one thing the shower room is no door.
There is a shared kitchen is very convenience to used hot water and microwave, like the breakfast too!
The room is clean but quite small and basic amenities. The view of the mountains and Grindelwald is spectacular. Staffs are friendly. The only that that confused me is that when I booked the room online on expedia there was no better room …
We stayed in the chic room. It's small but enough for 2 adults+1 kid. Nice view from the balcony but you can see the backpacker building and see what they are doing (they don't close their windows!)
Walking distance to the Eiger Express, very convenient.
Breakfast was standard, don't expect too much.
The reception and housekeeping were very friendly and kind. Helped us to set up a cot in the room.
The only downside is, when someone is showing warm, the room becomes very steaming and we had to leave our window open to make the air circulation better.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Great for access to Terminal Station, but a walk up to town (if you have a travel pass, you can just grab a train or bus, otherwise it's a steep walk uphill). Very reasonable prices in a ski lodge vibe. Easy check in, decent sized rooms with all the expected amenities. We enjoyed staying here as it was great value for money and free breakfast is a rare bonus in Switzerland. There's a nice lounge too with snooker table and dart board. Can imagine this place really shines in winter as a ski lodge but for our summer holiday it was very useful and well priced.
